Illegal Fireworks Are Illegal, Dangerous, and aren’t Worth It.
As the Fourth of July approaches, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department wants to remind residents: the use, possession, or sale of illegal fireworks in the Village of Mamaroneck is against the law and puts our community at risk.
Illegal Fireworks Can:
- Cause serious injury — to you, your family, and others
- Start fires — that can destroy homes and put lives at risk
- Scare pets and wildlife — and cause unnecessary stress
- Break the law — and result in fines, arrest, and criminal charges
Illegal Fireworks = Illegal Consequences
You could be charged with a violation of Village Code and/or New York State Law. Penalties can include fines up to $1,000, jail time, and/or seizure of fireworks.
Celebrate Responsibly
The safest — and only legal — way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a professional, permitted display, such as the annual show at Harbor Island Park. Please help us keep the holiday enjoyable and safe for everyone by choosing responsible celebrations.
If you observe illegal fireworks, please call our non-emergency police line: (914) 777-1122. In an emergency, always dial 911.
Let’s keep Mamaroneck safe, respectful, and fireworks-free. Celebrate responsibly. Protect our community.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and enjoyable Fourth of July!
