No, all police reports must be filed in person. For emergencies, always dial 911. For non-emergencies, please call (914) 777-1122. An officer can be dispatched to your location within the Village of Mamaroneck, or you may visit police headquarters at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY 10543 to file your report.
Records Department
Copies of police reports can be obtained from the Records Department, located on the second floor of police headquarters. The Records Department is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (excluding holidays). You can also request a report by calling (914) 825-8542; the report can be mailed to you or made available for pick-up at the Police Desk.

For your convenience, accident reports can be downloaded online through LexisNexis BuyCrash Portal.
You can also obtain a copy of an accident report by visiting the Records Department at the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, located at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, 2nd Floor. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (excluding holidays). You may also request additional information by calling the Records Department directly at (914) 825-8542.

A Village of Mamaroneck Police Officer will respond for any urgent animal-related complaints. You may call the VMPD Front Desk at 914-777-1122, option 3, to notify the department of a deceased animal in the roadway. The home owner/business owner is responsible for the removal of a deceased animal on private property.
Yes
Yes. Owners or lessees of any police, fire, or medical emergency alarm device must obtain an annual alarm permit, valid from August 1 through July 31. Permit renewal forms and updated fine and fee schedules are mailed out in early August. Applications must be submitted by August 31.

Visit Police Headquarters
o obtain a parking permit for persons with severe disabilities, please visit police headquarters Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and speak with the officer at the front desk.
- For first-time or temporary permits, bring:
- A completed application form, signed by your doctor.
- Valid identification (driver’s license or NYS ID card).
- Proof of residency within the Village of Mamaroneck.

Electric Scooters
- Operators must be at least 16 years old.
- Operators aged 16-17 must wear a helmet.
- Maximum allowed speed is 15 MPH.
- Only one rider per scooter is permitted.
- Riding on sidewalks is prohibited.
- Scooters must use a bicycle lane (if available) or the right shoulder of the road.
- When riding in a group, scooters must travel in a single-file line.
- A white front light and red rear light are required from ½ hour after sunset until ½ hour before sunrise.
- Scooters must have a functioning brake.
- Riders must travel in the same direction as traffic.
- Riders must yield to pedestrians and come to a complete stop before entering a roadway.
- All applicable Vehicle & Traffic Laws must be obeyed.
Electric Bikes
- Operators must be at least 16 years old.
- Maximum allowed speed is 20 MPH.
- Riding on sidewalks is prohibited.
- When riding in a group, e-bikes must travel in a single-file line.
- Wheel reflectors, a white front light, and a red rear light are required from ½ hour after sunset until ½ hour before sunrise.
- E-bikes must have a functioning brake.
- Riders must travel in the same direction as traffic.
- Riders must yield to pedestrians and come to a complete stop before entering a roadway.
- All applicable Vehicle & Traffic Laws must be obeyed.
Police Officer
Employment opportunities for positions such as Police Officer, Dispatcher, and Office Assistant are managed through the civil service process administered by the Westchester County Department of Human Resources. To be considered, you must successfully complete a civil service examination, which evaluates candidates based on merit and qualifications. Detailed announcements for each exam—including eligibility requirements and application instructions—are available through the Westchester County Department of Human Resources.
Please carefully review the exam announcements, as application fees are non-refundable. Eligible lists generated from these exams are used to fill positions within the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department and other municipal agencies in Westchester County.

Commercial vehicles may not be parked on any street or highway in residential districts as indicated on the Village of Mamaroneck Zoning Map.

Monday through Saturday 9 AM to 8 PM
Parking meters in the downtown and business district are enforced Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can pay meters using quarters or through the ParkMobile app on your smartphone.
Memorial Day through Labor Day
Parking enforcement at Harbor Island Park is in effect from Memorial Day through Labor Day, daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Pay stations are conveniently located throughout the East Basin and West Basin parking lots.
Village of Mamaroneck Court
Parking and traffic tickets can be paid in person, by mail, or online through the Village of Mamaroneck Justice Court, located at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, 2nd Floor.
